April

Its the 5th of April, nothing really has changed much, but I would like to share something with you, (if anybody actually reads these). An activist, Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja is on his 57th day of hunger-strike, he is in great danger of death, he stopped taking glucose 3 days ago, and he may lapse into a coma anytime now, and he may not wakeup. I don’t understand the governments decision to keep him in prison while he is in this condition, what if he dies? The ground will shake beneath the Khalifa regime, and the people will be stronger than ever, and if he dies (God forbid) before the Grand Prix, I am sure the race would not go ahead, because the people will be angry, they will be furious, why does the government want to do this to itself, to eliminate itself?

Formula 1 is coming to Bahrain, the FIA, officially announced. Its such a sad event, will the event is not sad, its just that performing it here is sad. Its sad to see that money wins over morals, money seems to win over many things. Remember Mohammed Ali (NOT HIS REAL NAME), the guy in my class which was arrested? He started a hunger strike, I am not sure when, so I won’t say about it. It seems such a long time that he has been arrested, but its just over a month, still a long time to be alone from home, stuck in a prison cell, a crime which he is blamed for, but he never did… I hope that the opposition here in Bahrain will stage massive protests during the Grand Prix, it will surely attract many people and journalists and will spread our cause.

Its April 22th already! It went by soo fast. I want to talk about Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja, he is 70-72 days of hunger strike (I lost count), he stopped taking water, and may collapse in 72 hours. I really hope he doesn’t, he has become an idol for me, his resistance and hope gives me hope that the Al-Khalifa regime will leave. I want to describe a rally that I went to on Friday, it was from AlQadam to Karranah, I think… So we went to Mashawi Al-Abraj, an Arabian grills restaurant, since it was close to the ending point of the rally. We could see the protesters hanging banners and stuff while we were eating lunch, after lunch, I went next to the door, and opened it. I could not describe the feeling, Revolutionary music was blasted from the speakers and people flowed from everywhere to the start point. Its not the first time I see this, but this time I was inside the restaurant not hearing anything of the music, and then when I open the door, the revolutionary spirit in me jumped of excitement.

Mohammed Ali, a friend that got arrested was given another 45 days to spend in his cell in jail. I don’t understand, he didn’t do anything, then you kept him locked for 45 days for “interrogation”, you then present him to court and give him another 45 days? Sometimes I wish we had the “ Innocent until proven guilty” policy we are just the opposite of that.

Parent-Teacher conferences are soon, and I am really scared, I failed my two Algebra tests, and I really hope that they will average with the other tests which I got a 100 on, with Ms. Squeaky Voice, so that I least get a C on test grades.

I asked my Algebra teacher and she told me I have a C, just like I predicted, but not a low C, its a High C, she gave me 78%, which is wound’t round up to a B. But I am trying hard, I am. I am aiming for a 3.6-3.7 GPA next quarter, so I study and do all my homework, and I hope I get better grades, so that I improve.

I just found out, while writing this, that the Viva Internet USB has a memory card, and that memory card belongs to my beloved Grandfather, may he rest in peace, looking at the photos makes me sad, I wish he was here, with us. It was mostly accidental pictures while he was in the bus, where when he was ill at the hospital.

AlKhawaja is now missing, his wife called the BDF Hospital, because he was there for his very fragile health, and when the nurse picked up the phone, she told her that there is no one in the room where he was held, and the Ministry of Interior, wouldn’t talk to his wife and tell him where he is, AlKhawaja’s wife is fearing the worst, and I hope that he is still okay and that he is alive, he is in his 76th day of hunger-strike.

We still don’t know where Khawaja is, his whereabouts are unknown. Its April 27th, and I am sleeping in our new house, we tend to do that every weekend, and maybe 2 days during school nights. I was scrolling my twitter timeline, when I saw that there were clashes near by so I went to the patio, but smelled no teargas, or saw any smoke, so I went upstairs, upstairs, I saw the smoke, and it was a sight I won’t forget, the white smoke against the dark night, and then I went to the roof to get a better view, and suddenly a bright light flashed my eyes, in matter of milliseconds I covered my ears, it was a flash grenade, or what we call “Sound bomb”. It was the first time I see it and hear it at the same time, so it was a memorable event.
